The Walled Garden at Cowdray Wedding | Harriet & Mike
Harriet and Mike reached got in touch earlier in the year and since then we had met for an engagement shoot. The day started off when I met Mike and his groomsmen getting ready in the morning at Park House Hotel and Spa. After this, I met Harriet and her bridesmaids prepared at The beautiful Walled Garden at Cowdray. With its stunning gardens, historic architecture, and enchanting atmosphere, it’s the perfect setting for any couple to exchange their vows and celebrate.
Harriet looked stunning in her elegant white dress, as did her bridesmaids. The ceremony took place under the characterful wooden pergola, adorned with flowers and greenery. After the ceremony, their guests lined up with handfuls of dried petals before Harriet & Mike walked through. As the guests enjoyed champagne and canapes, I photographed the family formals, the rose bushes behind made for the perfect background. Once the guests were called in for the wedding breakfast, I took the couple around the garden for a quick couple portrait session before they were announced into the room. The speckled clouds in the sky made for lovely diffused natural light.

Just before the speeches, I noticed the sun was getting low and we were about to have a beautiful sunset. We walked to the Cowdray ruins, before looping back to the front door of the garden. The sun was shining through the door and captured some stunning portraits of the couple.
The Castle room was decorated with bouquets of natural flowers where the couple enjoyed their wedding breakfast overlooking the Cowdray ruins. After cutting the cake their first dance followed shortly after. Everyone joined in on the dancefloor and danced the night away.
I’m incredibly lucky to be a recommended supplier at The Walled Garden. If you’re planning your wedding, please get in touch for pricing and availability.
Kind words from the couple:
“We love them so much! Thank you so much for everything you did on the day for us and for giving us a beautiful set of photos. We’ve ordered prints to include in thank you letters for people and can’t wait to show them.”
